Man sagt, man ist alt, wenn man nicht das Original kennt sondern nur die Coverversion. Und was soll ich sagen, ich bin alt. Denn bis vor ein paar Minuten bin ich davon ausgegangen, dass Without You von Mariah Carey ist. Und das Schlimme. auch die Version Nilsson ist ein Cover von Badfinger. Das ist auch ein Grund warum ich dieses Projekt macht. Neuentdeckungen und Wissen.

Da ich mir jetzt das Lied in allen Versionen angehört habe, muss ich sagen, dass die von Nilsson mir am besten gefällt. Er kommt auch von der Stimmbreite an Mariah Carey heran, was eine Kunst für sich ist.

So schnell habe ich es nicht erwartet einen unbekannten Song zu hören. Und ich denke es bleibt auch dabei, also das der Song für mich unbekannt bleibt. Es ist so ein Song, denn man im Kopf hat, wenn man an Country denkt. So eine Blaupause. Irgendwie nichts für mich, deswegen auch keine Kommentare zu dem Text.

Herr MiM verbloggt schon seit geraumer Zeit die Top 500 Greatest Song gekürt von dem Magazin Rolling Stone. Da Musik auch ein Teil meines Lebens ist und ich auch gerne Neues höre, hat mich diese Idee angetan. Im Februar 2024 wurde die Liste nochmal überarbeitet.
